There goes 6 Million
We have just passed the 6 Million item mark. Yes that means App Analtics now actively tracking more than 6 million items around the world and that number is still growing fast.
I would just like to take time out to say thanks to all those who have helped get us to this point as with out your feedback and support we would have been able to grow to this point.
Thank you.
Read MoreMultiple User Support Added
We have just released the ability for admins to add multiple users to an account. This is the biggest functionally change since the complete recode of the core and we couldn’t be happier.
What does all this mean?
Adding the ability for multiple users allows each person on the team to have their own account instead of using and sharing one set of details.
Another feature of the new multiple persons on one accounts is the ability to assign a “User” or an “Administrator” role to a person. A “user” is person who can read all the information but is unable to add, edit or delete things. For example you may want to give access to a client but dont want them to accidentally delete anything the user role is perfect for them. An “Administrator” has free reign in the account.
How do I add new users to my account?
After selecting an account from the account list you will notice the top right menu now has a link called “Account Settings”.
![]()
In the “Account Setting” page you have will see that we have added a users panel. To add a new users just click the “Add Person to Account” link in the bottom of the panel and then just follow the steps. Simplez

App Analytics 0.03.2 Release Candidate SWC
As you may have seen on our support forums there heave been a few bugs found in App Analytics. A big thanks to finding most of these goes out to Brady White from http://www.notesync.com/, which by the way is a sweet App that you should take a look at.
From these errors that cropped we had to tweek the App Analytics swc to solve most of these bugs.
So as of now there is a new release candidate SWC in the downloads test section of the web interface. This shouldn’t go into live projects just yet. But please do use it in your test projects.
SWC Fix Details:
- Unique application miss track fixed
- App Analytics connection poll now set to every 30 second
- Very rare install initialization issue fixed
- Clear debug messages added for debug mode.
Also while I have you I might as well remind you of some of the major the features under development.
- People Management
We are adding the ability to add your team to an account. This will allow you to collaborate more as a team instead of sharing the same details. Also there will be user privileges so you can control who can do what. - Custom Types
We here at App Analytics understand that no application is the same so we want to make App Analytics as flexible as possible. So we are going to allow you to create as many custom tracking types as you heart desires. We even going to create a short cut in the content area so you can get direct access to data. - Geo Location
Give you the ability to find out where in the world your application is being used. App Analytics currently tracking all that information it just inst visualized yet. So when it is up and running you will be able to see all the way back to when your app was first tracked by App Analytics.
We think this will be of huge value to you for example you may find out from App Analytics that your application was used more in France than any where else, it would make sence to release a French language pack for your app. This is information that has been previously unavailable you that could make a huge impact.
Registrations are open again
We have opened back up the registration systems here on App Analytics. WOOT!
So if you feel like giving App Analytics a spin click here to register. You will be up and running just a few minutes.
Read MoreBleeding edge servers updated with new infrastructure
So as you all know I have been hard at work over the last 3-4 months creating and deploying a completely new infrastructure for App Analytics. Well I’m happy to announce that the code base is in a state where I can release it into the bleeding edge servers. The bleeding edge servers are located here: http://bleed.appanalyticshq.com/
App Analytics is now sitting on a completely scalable cluster infrastructure including having access directly to over 20 databases to cope with the vast data reads and writes an application of this nature performs. In another post I will go into more detail of why and how I achieved this.
In the mean time the bleeding edge servers are here to allow you to play with the system and see how it performs.
New SWC
There is a new SWC to go with the new system, if you want to see real-time tracking as per the old system you will need to download the new swc and update the linkages, e.g AirAnalytics is now AppAnalytics, all other syntax is the same. You can get the new swc from http://bleed.appanalyticshq.com/index.php/downloads
New Web Interface
When you log into the bleeding edge web interface your application tracking data set maybe incomplete…. don’t stress App Analytics still has all your data it just hasn’t completely migrated to the new system. The data migration is a continual process and will be for some time yet.
From a interface point of view is looks exactly the same as the old interface and works in exactly the same minor with a few updates.
- Charts have been replaced and updated.
- When you set a date range it stays set as you navigate the site.
- Streamlined usage permissions
- Chat data optimization
- Map data optimization
But the web interface is incomplete and is missing the following features that are soon to follow.
- People Management
- Edit User Details
- Custom type additions
- Content drill-downs
- Open user registration
- Edit Application Details
As usual I really appreciate your feedback…. If you have any please let me know
Thanks Paul
